Daniel von Allmen serves as the Director of the Division of Pediatric General and Thoracic Surgery at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center since October 2009, overseeing various surgical specialties including General Pediatric Surgery, Fetal, Bariatric, Transplant, Trauma, Colorectal, and Intestinal Rehabilitation. Additionally, Daniel holds the position of Division Chief for Pediatric Surgery at the University of Cincinnati, concurrently with the role at the hospital. Prior to these roles, Daniel was the Chief of Pediatric Surgery at the University of North Carolina from July 2003 to September 2009. Daniel completed a Doctor of Medicine degree at The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont from 1982 to 1986 after earning a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Williams College from 1976 to 1980.
