James Oduor has extensive work experience in various leadership and finance roles. James is currently the Chief Executive Officer at CIMERWA PPC, a position they assumed in 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Financial Officer at Habesha Cement S.Co. from 2020 to 2022, where they were responsible for developing and implementing the business strategy and overseeing finance, ICT, risk, and strategy functions.
From 2014 to 2020, James worked at Kenchic Limited, first as the General Manager and later as the Managing Director. In these roles, they developed strategies and business plans, established internal control systems, and enhanced collaborations with stakeholders while ensuring financial and operational targets were met.
Before that, James had a career at LafargeHolcim, where they held various finance leadership positions. James served as the Regional Financial Controller for Nigeria and Benin from 2013 to 2014, leading teams in treasury, tax, finance control, business performance, and strategy. James also worked as the Group Finance Controller for Kenya and Uganda from 2008 to 2012 and as the Business Performance Manager for the same regions from 2007 to 2008.
James began their career at East African Breweries PLC in 2001, where they held roles such as Manager of Group Audit & Risk and Decision Support Manager. During their time there, they conducted audits, led special reviews, and influenced managers on issues of controls, risk management, and governance.

James Oduor completed their Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree in Finance at the University of Nairobi from 1996 to 2000. James then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management, General at Strathmore Business School (SBS) from 2015 to 2017. In addition to their formal education, James Oduor has obtained various certifications, including the Panafrican Executive MBA Module from IESE Business School in 2017, the Advanced Management Program (AMP) from Aston Business School in 2011, the Program for Management Development (PMD) from GIBS Business School (Gordon Institute of Business Science) in 2008, the Certified Public Secretaries (CPS-K) certification from Strathmore University in 2004, the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification from Strathmore University in 2002, and the Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) certification from Strathmore University in 1998.
