Thomas Doherty is an experienced fire service professional currently serving as Fire Chief for the Resort Municipality of Whistler since July 2022. With a background that includes key roles such as Fire Chief and Deputy Fire Chief in the City of Campbell River, and Deputy Fire Chief in the City of Kelowna, Thomas has developed extensive leadership skills in emergency services. Additionally, Thomas holds professional designations as a Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers and Professionals (GiFireE) and as a Certified Manager (C.Mgr) through the Canadian Institute of Management. Thomas has a solid foundation in emergency response, having worked as a Paramedic with the British Columbia Ambulance Service from 2000 to 2010, and is educated at Capilano University and the Justice Institute of British Columbia.
