Cuong Trinh's work experience includes various roles in transportation planning and related fields. Cuong started their career in 2010 as a volunteer for SJBP and later worked as an Economic Development Intern for the City of Redwood City. In 2011, they served as a Graduate Intern in Environmental Services for the City of San Jose, where they conducted data analysis and provided strategic recommendations for waste management efforts. Cuong Trinh then joined the Young Professionals in Transportation organization as a board member, where they contributed to programming and oversaw the Wordpress page.

In 2009, Cuong Trinh worked as a Freelance Photographer and Redevelopment Planning Consultant for the City of San Gabriel. During their time there, they photographed the award-winning "San Gabriel Centennial" float for the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade.

From 2013 to 2015, they served as a Planning Aide for the City of Rancho Cucamonga, focusing on Healthy RC and Active Transportation initiatives. Cuong Trinh's role involved coordinating and implementing planning efforts to promote active transportation within the city.

In 2014, Cuong Trinh joined CicLAvia, Inc. as a Hub Volunteer Coordinator, Lead Angel, and Volunteer Captain. In this position, they managed logistics, trained volunteers, and set up community hubs for Los Angeles' open streets event.

Cuong Trinh also holds noteworthy experience in the transportation industry. Cuong served as a board member for the LA chapter of Young Professionals in Transportation, where they facilitated professional development and fellowship opportunities for individuals in transportation planning and engineering. Additionally, they worked as a Senior Transportation Planner for Caltrans, starting from 2015. Cuong'sresponsibilities included forecasting planning needs, providing transportation recommendations, and leading bicycle safety workshops. Cuong Trinh progressed within the organization, transitioning to the role of Senior Transportation Planner, Acting Senior Transportation Planner, and Associate Transportation Planner throughout the years.

Prior to this, Cuong Trinh worked as an Information Technology and Services Consultant for PM Consultants, supporting non-profit, legal, and insurance industry clients with systems integration and technology services. Cuong also has a strong background in bicycle advocacy and was involved with various bicycle coalitions in the Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay Areas.

Overall, Cuong Trinh has gained extensive experience and expertise in transportation planning, active transportation initiatives, volunteer coordination, and bicycle advocacy throughout their career.

Cuong Trinh pursued their education at multiple universities, acquiring a diverse set of skills and knowledge in the process. In the period from 1999 to 2001, they attended California State University, Long Beach, although the exact degree and field of study during this time remain unknown. Moving forward, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at UC Irvine from 2001 to 2003. Cuong then continued their educational journey at California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, where they obtained a Masters degree in Urban and Regional Planning, concluding in 2014.
