Stefan Kist has extensive work experience in the art industry, particularly with Christie's. Stefan started their career with Christie's in 1993 as a Specialist and worked their way up to become the Regional Managing Director and Senior Vice President. Throughout their career at Christie's, they held several senior roles, including Senior Business Director, Business Director, and Head of Interiors. Prior to joining Christie's, Stefan owned and operated their own consulting firm, Kist Consulting Ltd. Additionally, they worked as a Financial Manager at Aspect Inc.

Stefan Kist attended INSEAD in 2008-2009, focusing on leadership studies. In 1992-1993, they studied at Christie's Education and obtained a Royal Society of Arts Diploma in Art/Art Studies.
