Samantha V. Jacobson

Samantha Jacobson is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington with 4 years of experience providing mental health care in a range of settings, including inpatient psychiatric units, intensive outpatient programs, community mental health, and outpatient private practice. She completed her Master’s degree in Psychological science, and is currently a fourth-year PhD candidate in clinical psychology.

Samantha provides justice-centered evidence-based treatment to a diverse range of clients with varying presenting problems at The Affirmative Collective, a 504(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The focus of her work there is with gender diverse clients experiencing gender dysphoria, depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, self-harm, and suicidal ideation.

Samantha is also an advanced graduate student therapist at The Seattle Clinic, where she provides comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy to teens and adults with borderline personality disorder, eating disorders, suicidality, self-injury, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Samantha has extensive training in interventions of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for treating suicide, self-injury, and borderline personality disorder, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Cognitive-Behavior Therapy Enhanced (CBT-E) for the treatment of eating disorders, Exposure and Response Prevention (E/RP) for the treatment of obsessive-compulsive and anxiety disorders, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for treatment of trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder.
