Shusong Ba is a highly experienced economist currently serving as the Chief China Economist at Hongkong Exchanges since June 2015. Additionally, Ba has been a Senior Visiting Scholar at Columbia University since October 2013 and holds multiple key positions including Independent Director and Chairman of the Risk Management Committee at China Minsheng Banking Corp., Chief Economist for the China Banking Association, and Deputy Secretary General of the China Society of Macroeconomics since 2009. Ba also serves as Vice Director-General at the Financial Research Institute of the Development Research Center of the State Council, holding previous roles such as Senior Research Fellow and Professor on Finance from April 2003 to May 2015. Ba's extensive education includes a PhD in Economics from The Central University Of Finance and Economics and a postdoctoral degree from the China Center for Economic Research at Peking University.
