Lise Bertelsen's work experience includes serving as the Executive Director at China-Britain Business Council since 1997. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Events Executive at Burson-Marsteller from 1985 to 1990.

Lise Bertelsen completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Chinese (Classical & Modern) from the School of Oriental & African Studies, University of London from 1992 to 1996. In addition, they studied at Beijing Normal University from 1993 to 1994, although the degree and field of study during this period are unknown.
