James Brodie

Commercial Director, Industrial Economy at China-Britain Business Council

James Brodie has a diverse work experience across various sectors. James started their career as the International Programme Manager at Chinablue Gallery from November 2006 to February 2009. James then worked as a China Project Facilitator at Davy Process Technology from May 2010 to July 2012. In August 2012, they joined the China-Britain Business Council as the Regional Director for Scotland & Northern Ireland/ Energy Sector Lead, a role they held until October 2020. At the same organization, they also served as the Commercial Director for the Industrial Economy starting from October 2020. In addition, James Brodie has been a Trustee at Students' Education Trust since September 2019.

James Brodie's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Chinese Studies from The University of Sheffield, which they obtained from 1999 to 2004. James also attended Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales (Inalco) from 2005 to 2006, where they studied Intercultural Communication in Professional Practice. From 2007 to 2008, they attended the University of International Business and Economics, focusing on Chinese-English Conference Interpreting. Currently, they are pursuing an MSc in Mediation & Conflict Resolution at the University of Strathclyde, starting in 2022 and ending in 2024.
