Jacques Fuentes serves as a Principal Software Engineer at Chime, the largest challenger banking company in the U.S., since September 2021. Previously, Jacques held various roles at Simple Finance, culminating in the position of Principal Backend Engineer, where initiatives included establishing the Engineering Council to enhance engineering standards and collaboration. Jacques also led the development of the flagship budgeting feature, Expenses, during earlier roles as Staff and Senior Backend Engineer. Additional experience encompasses the Chief Software Architect role at FoxCommerce, where Jacques guided the onboarding of engineers, and contributions at Collective, Citrusbyte, and Weinstein Properties in various engineering and management roles. Jacques has a background in enhancing operational effectiveness and mentoring in software development across several organizations since starting in the industry in 2003, with education from Virginia Commonwealth University.
