Tessa Steil Pacheco has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as an Art Therapy Intern at Beacon Therapeutic School in 2012. Tessa then worked as a Milieu Therapist in the Intensive Outpatient program, providing support and assessments for children. Tessa also served as a DCFS Case Manager and a Milieu Therapist in the Intensive Outpatient program at Beacon Therapeutic School. In 2016, Tessa joined the Children's Home Association of Illinois as a Mental Health Therapist, where they provided therapy services to clients. Tessa later became the Clinical Coordinator, overseeing a team of therapists and supporting them in their work. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Behavioral Health at the Children's Home Association of Illinois.
Tessa Steil Pacheco, ATR, LCPC began their education in 2007 at Western Illinois University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree with a minor in Psychology. Tessa completed their undergraduate studies in 2011. Following this, they attended Adler University from 2011 to 2013, focusing on Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Art Therapy.
In addition to their formal education, Tessa has obtained certifications in the field of mental health counseling and art therapy. Tessa became a Registered Art Therapist through the Art Therapy Credentials Board in August 2020. Tessa also obtained their certification as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor through NBCC Consulting in December 2021.
