Gina Wilson is an experienced professional in strategy and policy development, currently serving as the Head of Strategy at the Children and Young People's Commissioner Scotland since July 2020. Prior to this role, Gina held the position of Head of Innovation & Partnerships at the College Development Network from January 2018 to July 2020. Gina's background includes significant roles at the Carnegie UK Trust, including Development Manager, Senior Policy & Development Officer, and Senior Projects Officer from June 2014 to January 2018, as well as National Coordinator for the No Knives, Better Lives initiative at YouthLink Scotland from July 2008 to May 2014. Earlier in the career, Gina worked as a Senior Policy Officer at the National Union of Students (UK) and in various capacities at the University of Edinburgh and The Scottish Parliament. Gina's academic qualifications include an MSc in Childhood Studies and an MA(Hons) in Sociology and Politics, both from the University of Edinburgh.
