Patti Banghart Gottesman is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in policy and research within early childhood education and social policy. Currently serving as a Senior Policy Specialist and Research Scientist at Child Trends since August 2016, Patti previously held the roles of Director of Research and Senior Early Childhood Education Policy Associate at the Children's Defense Fund from September 2013 to August 2016. Patti also contributed as a Research Associate at Columbia University's National Center for Children in Poverty from September 2006 to September 2013, and at The Urban Institute from September 2004 to September 2006. Early career experience includes a Research Consultant position at the Rhode Island Department of Health. Patti holds an MS in Social Work/Social Policy from Columbia University, obtained between 2001 and 2003, along with a bachelor's degree from Rutgers University, completed from 1997 to 2001.
