Sam Vargas is an academically ambitious student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering. Currently a member of Chicago Scholars since March 2021, Sam collaborates with mentors and college counselors to achieve academic and college success. Additionally, experience includes an Environmental Health and Safety internship at Magid, a Civil Engineering internship at Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc., and an Information Technology internship at Intelsat, where responsibilities involved technical support and project completion. Sam also honed skills as an Information Technology Trainee with Genesys Works Chicago and participated as a Civil Engineer Mentee with ACE Mentor Chicago, engaging in real-world design projects and structural analysis.
