John Laesch is a candidate for Aurora Mayor, advocating for leadership that prioritizes people and the environment. With a background in carpentry at the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters since 2005, Laesch also served as a School Board Member for East Aurora School District 131 from 2015 to 2019 and gained military experience as an Intelligence Specialist in the US Navy from 1995 to 1999. Educationally, Laesch holds a Bachelor of Science in History from Illinois State University and an Associate of Science from Waubonsee Community College. Laesch's campaign focuses on addressing income inequality, racial injustices, and the climate crisis to transform Aurora into a model city.
