Nathaniel Knize

Librarian I - Adult Services at Chicago Public Library

Nathaniel Knize is an experienced librarian and teaching artist with a strong background in library services, art education, and design. Currently serving as Librarian I - Adult Services and previously as Library Associate in Teen Services at Chicago Public Library, Nathaniel provides reference help and develops workshops focused on technology and creativity for teens. With extensive experience teaching art and design through Marwen, curriculum development for innovative courses, and workshops on design tools, Nathaniel has nurtured artistic skills in underserved youth. Former roles include Visitor Experience Associate and Gallery Guide at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, where Nathaniel facilitated visitor engagement with contemporary art. Nathaniel also operated a jewelry business, Solar Symbols, specializing in 3D printed designs, and has worked across various roles in design and education, culminating in a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
