Laurence Young is a seasoned Senior Drilling Engineer with extensive experience in drilling engineering roles across various companies in the oil and gas industry. Currently employed at Chevron since February 2023, Laurence is focused on the Gorgon CCS Long Term Optimisation Project. Previous positions include Senior Drilling Engineer at OMV, where involvement was in geosteered development wells for the Maui B brownfield development, and at Beach Energy Ltd, overseeing ERD, geosteered development, and exploration subsea wells in the Otway Basin. Prior experience also encompasses roles at Petrofac and Todd Energy, where Laurence contributed to drilling engineering for brownfield developments and exploration projects in different regions. Laurence holds a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the University of Sydney.
