Barbara Estrada has a diverse work experience in the field of program evaluation and development. Barbara started their career at The University of Arizona, where they worked as a Research Specialist Principal, managing grant activities, conducting research, and analyzing data. During their time there, Barbara worked on 20 state and federally funded research grants.
Barbara then established their consulting company, Impact Consultants, Inc., where they served as the President and owner. In this role, they provided technical services such as program evaluation, development, grant writing, and training to community-based organizations. Barbara also worked as an external evaluator on 18 grants for organizations specializing in substance abuse and mental health treatment, primary medical care, HIV/AIDS care, housing, and other services.
Currently, Barbara is employed at Chestnut Health Systems. Barbara has held multiple roles, including Director of the GAIN Coordinating Center and Software Development, Software Manager, and GAIN Sr. Clinical and Evaluation Consultant. In these positions, they focus on developing products and training related to program evaluation, program planning, and clinical interpretation of the GAIN. Barbara also offers technical assistance to GAIN users in areas such as program evaluation, program management, and clinical utility.
Barbara Estrada has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Management Information Systems, General, which they obtained from the University of Arizona - Eller College of Management. Barbara completed their master's degree program from 1989 to 1993. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of Arizona. Barbara spent four years, from 1985 to 1989, studying at this institution for their undergraduate degree.
In addition to their academic qualifications, Barbara Estrada has obtained various certifications. Barbara completed the Global Appraisal of Individual Needs (GAIN) Program Management and Evaluation Training (PMET) National Trainer certification from Chestnut Health Systems in February 2011. In May 2008, they became a Global Appraisal of Individual Needs (GAIN) National Clinical Trainer. Prior to that, they acquired the Global Appraisal of Individual Needs (GAIN) National Administration Trainer certification in May 2007, all from Chestnut Health Systems.
