Andrew Johnston has a diverse range of work experience in the food and beverage industry. Andrew started their career at the Courtyard Newark at the University of Delaware at Marriott, where they worked as a Food and Beverage/Guest Services Manager and Director of Sales from September 2005 to August 2009. Andrew then moved on to work as a Server at James Squire Brewhouse & Restaurant from February 2010 to May 2010. Following this, they worked at Maiale Deli & Salumeria as a Short Order Cook/Salami and Sausage Maker from June 2010 to March 2011. In 2011, they joined Iron Hill Brewery, where they held various roles including Brewer and eventually became the Director of Brewery Operations in January 2020. Currently, they are working as the Brewery Operations Manager at First State Brewing Company, starting from June 2023.
Andrew Johnston attended the University of Delaware from 2002 to 2006, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Human Services, Education, and Public Policy. In 2014, they completed a certification program in Intensive Brewing Science and Engineering for Working Brewers at the American Brewers Guild. In 2018, they briefly attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for the MBAA Brewing and Malting Science program.
