Dawit Abay has a diverse work experience. Dawit is currently working as a CDC Contractor as a Frontend Developer at Cherokee Federal, where they collaborate with web development and software design teams to improve the website and internal web tools. Prior to this, they worked at Georgia State University in various roles including Teaching Assistant, Graduate Research Assistant, Graduate Teaching Assistant, Information Technology Support Specialist, Information Technology Help Desk, and Student Assistant. Before joining Georgia State University, Dawit worked as a self-employed Mobile Developer from 2011 to 2019.

Dawit Abay completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Georgia State University from 2016 to 2020. Afterward, they pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science at the same university from 2020 to 2023. In addition to their academic qualifications, Dawit obtained a certification in "Biomedical Responsible Conduct of Research Course 1" from CITI Program, A Division of BRANY in December 2020. Dawit also obtained a certification in "SAS Programming 1: Essentials" from SAS in July 2019.
