Ivan Blasutig has extensive experience in the field of laboratory medicine and biochemistry. Ivan started their career at the University of Toronto as an Assistant Professor and Fellow in the Postdoctoral Diploma Training Program in Clinical Chemistry from 2008 to 2017. During this time, they specialized in the testing performed in the Clinical Immunology Laboratory. In 2010, they joined the University Health Network as a Clinical Biochemist, where they were responsible for setting the standards of performance for the Clinical Chemistry Laboratory and specializing in plasma cell dyscrasias and autoimmune disorders. In 2017, Ivan Blasutig took on multiple roles, including Laboratory Director and Chief, Division of Biochemistry at CHEO -- Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, Clinical Biochemist and Quality Lead at EORLA - Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association, and Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa. In 2018, they became the Laboratory Director at Winchester District Memorial Hospital.
Ivan Blasutig completed their Bachelor of Science with Honours in Molecular Genetics and Molecular Biology at the University of Toronto between 1996 and 2000. Ivan then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Molecular Genetics at the same university from 2000 to 2008.
