Michael Cates is a seasoned development executive with extensive experience in affordable housing and project management. Currently serving at Chelsea Investment Corporation since December 2019, Michael has held roles as both Development Executive and Development Associate. Prior experience includes serving as Project Manager at Community HousingWorks from September 2017 to December 2019, where responsibilities included leading the development process for multi-family affordable acquisition and rehabilitation projects. Additionally, Michael worked as a consultant at Western America Properties and as Project Manager at Treadstone Companies, focusing on complex acquisition, refinancing, and rehabilitation transactions. Michael holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of San Diego's Knauss School of Business and completed additional studies at La Fundacion Jose Ortega y Gasset in 2009.
