Derek Schartung is an experienced System and Network Administrator and Project Lead at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens and Museum of Art, where employment began in December 2004. In addition to this role, Derek has been a freelance consultant since 2003, specializing in technology for not-for-profit organizations. Prior experience includes positions as a Maintenance Technician at Cheekwood from 1999 to 2003, Retail Sales Manager at Halcyon Books from 1999 to 2002, and Inventory Control at Caroline Records from 1997 to 1998. Derek holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Memphis College of Art, earned in 1997, with a focus on papermaking, book arts, and printmaking.
