Rachel Book joined CheckAlt as Chief People Officer in January 2022. With more than 20 years in Human Resources and Talent Acquisition, Rachel brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in designing and implementing inclusive and effective people practices that result in high-performing organizations and cultures. Prior to joining CheckAlt, Rachel held a variety of leadership and practitioner roles across multiple industries; spearheading talent acquisition and diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies at Stryker, Fidelity Investments, Bloomberg LP, and AT&T.
Rachel has been recognized for her transformational leadership and innovative ideas. She uses data and insights to streamline and reinvent practices and processes to align with the increasing speed of innovation and ever-changing dynamics and demographics of employees and customers. Her pragmatic and results-oriented approach has led to increased employer brand recognition, reduced cost of hire, enhanced employee engagement, and expanded workforce diversity. Throughout her career, Rachel has had unique opportunities to lead within White House-sponsored initiatives on skills-focused and military veteran hiring and she developed career programs to ease the transition for women returning to the workforce after extended career breaks. Rachel is a sought-after advisor and speaker on talent topics. She was featured in Entrepreneur.com’s list of Ten Powerful Women Leaders of HR and her thought leadership has been highlighted in Thrive Global, CNBC, Fox Business television and podcast, FinancialPlanning.com, and other financial and recruitment publications.
Rachel studied Industrial/Organizational Psychology at the graduate level at Harvard University’s School for Extension Studies and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Thomas Edison State University. She holds several Global Human Resources certifications and is a continuous learner and contributor of leading practices and trends. Rachel resides in Northern New Jersey with her husband and their two teenage sons. As a family, they love to travel, give back to their community, and seek to achieve a thoughtful integration of work, school, and life.
