Aubrey Nelson is an experienced educational leader with a demonstrated history of strategic initiatives and operations management in the academic sector. Currently serving as Director of Strategic Initiatives for the Impact Team at Charter School Growth Fund since October 2022, Aubrey previously held the position of Director of Academic Operations at The University of Memphis from July 2020 to June 2022, and served as Dean and Director of Teacher Residency at Relay Graduate School of Education from June 2015 to June 2020. Additional roles include Assistant Head of School at Freedom Preparatory Academy Charter Schools and participation in the Leaders for Emerging Networks of Schools Fellowship with Building Excellent Schools. Prior to these positions, Aubrey was involved with Teach For America in various leadership roles and began a career in education as a Kindergarten and First Grade Teacher with Shelby County Schools. Aubrey holds a Master of Arts in Elementary Education and Teaching from Christian Brothers University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Rhodes College.
