Kerry Murnain's work experience includes several roles in various organizations. Most recently, they are serving as the Director of Strategy, Partnerships, and Inclusion at Charles Sturt University since August 2022. Prior to that, they held positions at NSW Health as the District Manager of Organization Development, Talent, Capability, Culture, and Inclusion from May 2016 to August 2022. Additionally, at NSW Health, they served as the A/District Manager of Workplace Health & Safety and Risk Officer from November 2017 to April 2018, and as the People and Culture Business Partner/HR Manager from November 2015 to May 2016.

Their previous experience includes working at the Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection as an Assistant Director from August 2015 to November 2015, and at IP Australia as an A/Director and Assistant Director from June 2013 to August 2015. They also held roles as an A/Director and Assistant Director at the Department of Finance and Deregulation from June 2011 to June 2013, and as a Senior Specialist in People Development & Senior Lawyer at the Australian Government Solicitor from April 2002 to June 2011. Before that, they worked as a Lawyer at Blake Dawson from January 1998 to April 2002.

Kerry Murnain earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from Charles Sturt University from 2018 to 2020. Prior to this, Kerry obtained a Master of Human Resource Management degree from the same university, completing it from 2009 to 2012. Kerry also holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment from WISDOM Learning, attained in 2014 to 2015. In 2006, Kerry earned a Cert IV Workplace Training and Assessment from the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT Solutions). Kerry holds a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law (NSW) attained in 1998 and a Bachelor of Financial Administration/Bachelor of Law (Hons) degree from the University of New England (AU) completed from 1994 to 1997. Additionally, Kerry obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Newcastle in 1993. Kerry has certifications from various legal institutions, including the High Court of Australia, the ACT Supreme Court, and the Supreme Court of New South Wales. Kerry is also a member of the Australian HR Institute and holds a Practicing Certificate from The Law Society of NSW.
