Leilani Johnson

Director, Research & Digital at Charles Aris

Leilani Johnson is currently the Research Manager at Charles Aris. Prior to that, they served as a Records Management Specialist III at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from January 2007 to September 2011. In that role, they served as Subject Matter expert to Senior Management for program assessment, records schedule implementation, audits of historical and vital records to meet administrative and legal requirements. Leilani also authored material for training across the department on conversions of records from paper to digital format, trained new employees, conducted orientation sessions and managed 50 employees. Additionally, they created a policy framework for the management of personal records within the current records management system and collaborated with Adjusters and Litigators to manage > 250 Disaster projects simultaneously within the Superfund budgetary restrictions. Leilani also established policy and procedures for the conversion of records from paper to digital formats. Prior to their time at the EPA, Leilani was a Curator at Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts from March 2006 to August 2006 and an Andrew W. Mellon Fellow at Robert W. Woodruff Library from April 2005 to March 2006.

Leilani Johnson has a Master's in Business Administration from Kennesaw State University - Michael J. Coles College of Business, a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from Drexel University, and a Master of Science in Leilani'story from Clark Atlanta University. Leilani also has a Bachelor of Arts in English from Clark Atlanta University.
