Matas Simonavicius has a strong background in the automotive industry, with experience in various roles and companies. Matas started their career at Beacon Racing as a No.1 Mechanic/Engineer, where they gained expertise in race car preparation, suspension engineering, and engine build. After that, they joined Jaguar Land Rover as a Powertrain Development Engineer and later as a Project Engineer, focusing on mechanical development and validation.
Moving on, Matas worked at Arrival Ltd as a Hybrid Powertrain Mechanical Engineer and later as a System Integration Engineer. During this time, they gained valuable experience in the design and integration of hybrid powertrains.
In 2016, Matas joined Roborace as the Testing and Development Manager, where they played a crucial role in the testing and development of autonomous racing vehicles.
Currently, Matas holds the position of Chief Technical Officer at CHARGE CARS. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of technology for electric vehicle platforms. Matas also focuses on creating an ethical, creative, collaborative, and innovative company culture. Matas develops and implements technology strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
Matas Simonavicius began their education history in 2004 at Klaipedos Service and Business College, where they obtained a qualification in Vehicle Mechanic with a focus on Automotive Engineering Technology/Technician. Matas then continued their studies at Staffordshire University from 2010 to 2012, earning a Bachelor of Science degree with Honours in Motorsport Technology. Following this, Matas pursued a Master's degree in Engineering Business Management (Part-Time) at Coventry University from 2013 to 2016, specializing in Engineering/Industrial Management.
