Catherine Cellar Henson has a diverse work experience in the wine industry. Catherine started their career in 1992 as a Key Account wine Sales Specialist at Mesa Distributing, where they worked until 2002. In 2003, they became the Owner of San Diego Wine Cellars and held this position until 2008. From 2003 to 2021, they also worked at Winebow/Henry Wine Group, initially as a Hotel Manager and later as a National Accounts Manager. During their time at Winebow/Henry Wine Group, they were responsible for Key Accounts, Hotels, Regional and National Accounts, and was involved in presentations, program implementation, tracking, and education at the account level. In 2021, they joined Chambers & Chambers Wine Merchants as the Director of Corporate Sales.

Catherine Cellar Henson attended San Diego State University from 1985 to 1989, where they earned a degree in Physiological Psychology with a focus on Neurobiology and Behavior. In 2010, they also studied at WSET and obtained a degree in Wine and Spirits, completing both the WSET Diploma program from 2010 to 2013 and the Advanced program in the same year.
