Waqas Ahmad is a qualified Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in finance and accounting, currently serving as a Senior Finance Manager at Chalhoub Group since October 2013. In this role, Waqas manages a shared services team of 30 and oversees the accounting functions for the UAE, KSA, and Jordan markets. Key responsibilities include monthly management reporting, audit coordination, preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS, advising on complex IFRS matters, and managing accounts payable across 70 legal entities. Prior to this, Waqas worked at Ernst & Young from June 2009 to May 2013, where roles included Senior Consultant, focusing on statutory audits, internal controls, and process improvement. Waqas holds ACA credentials from ICAEW and a Chartered Accountant degree from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, complemented by an F.Sc in Pre-Engineering from Govt. College University Lahore.
