Thomas Mooney is the Founder and CEO of Westward Whiskey since June 2011, leading efforts in reimagining single malt American whiskey. In addition to this role, Thomas serves as President of Volstead Brands, overseeing Volstead Vodka and Casa Magdalena Rum. Thomas has been a Trustee of the Roessler-Chadwick Foundation since July 2021 and previously held significant leadership positions, including Co-Chair and President of the American Craft Spirits Association, and a Board Member of the Harvard Business School Association of Southern California. Additional experience includes Vice Chair for the Small Distiller Advisory Board at the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States, Trustee roles at Ingenium Schools and Chadwick School, and Founding Partner at Trade Winds Venture Partners. Past marketing leadership was demonstrated at Teleflora and FIJI Water, where Thomas contributed to global brand development and extensive marketing initiatives. Educational qualifications include an MBA from Harvard Business School, a BS in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, and a Diploma in Chinese Language from Fudan University.
