Gene McCluskey has extensive work experience in the field of finance and tax. Gene started their career as an Attorney at Pope, Ballard, Shepard & Fowle Ltd in 1985. Gene then moved to FMC Corporation in 1981, where they served as VP Tax for nearly 20 years, implementing tax strategies and resolving tax-related issues. From 2002 to 2004, they worked as Principal at McCluskey & Associates, where they designed and implemented tax compliance programs and structured M&A transactions. Gene then served as VP Tax at The Mosaic Company, a multinational diversified manufacturer, and later as Sr. VP Taxes at ProLogis. From 2008 to 2010, they were VP Tax at Hewitt Associates, where they reduced tax function costs and settled tax audits. Gene also worked as Founder and Owner of McCluskey Consulting LLC before joining CF Industries in 2012. At CF Industries, they held the roles of VP Tax and later VP Finance. Overall, Gene McCluskey has demonstrated expertise in tax management, tax strategy development, tax planning, and resolving tax-related issues in various industries.

Gene McCluskey received their Bachelor's degree in Accounting from St. Norbert College in 1978. Gene then pursued their Juris Doctor (JD) degree from DePaul University College of Law from 1978 to 1981. Continuing their education, they obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) in Taxation from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology from 1982 to 1985.
