Walter M. Cart, Jr. has extensive experience in the banking sector, currently serving as Vice President at Citizens and Farmers Bank (C&F Bank) since November 2004, focusing on small business to small middle market lending in the metro Richmond, Virginia area. Prior to this role, Walter held the position of Senior Vice President at Carolina First Bank from September 1987 to April 1992, where Walter was instrumental in establishing the Commercial Lending Department during the bank's startup phase, contributing to its growth to $500 million in the first five years. Additionally, Walter worked as Vice President of middle market corporate lending at Riggs Bank in Washington, D.C. from September 1984 to August 1987, targeting middle market companies in Northern Virginia. Walter holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in History from the University of South Carolina and studied at Hampden-Sydney College from 1973 to 1976.
