Dilhan C. Fernando serves as the Chairman and CEO of Dilmah Tea since July 1989, and additionally holds the position of Chairman at Kahawatte Plantations and the Global Compact Network Sri Lanka. Fernando has been involved with Biodiversity Sri Lanka since 2014, working on initiatives that promote the significance of biodiversity in business practices. In 2007, Fernando became a Director at Dilmah Conservation and has been a Trustee of the MJF Charitable Foundation since 2004. Further contributions include serving on the Advisory Board for Worldchefs - Feed the Planet until July 2024 and previously as a Committee Member of The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. In 2024, Fernando will take on the role of Honorary Adjunct Professor of Practice in Sustainability at Edith Cowan University. Academic qualifications include a B.Sc Econ. (Hons) in Economics & Politics from The London School of Economics and Political Science, completed in 1989, and earlier education at Stonyhurst College.
