Federico Calzolari is the Chief Operating Officer of the High Performance Computing Center at Scuola Normale Superiore University in Pisa, Italy, overseeing key aspects such as HPC infrastructure, networking, and research software since December 2008. Calzolari has significant experience in IT security as a Chief Information Security Officer, managing data protection and compliance, and has served as an EU Project Manager for the EDIH Tuscany X.0 initiative focused on cybersecurity. Previous roles include Head of the ICT Department and HPC System Engineer at Scuola Normale Superiore and Research Fellow positions at the Italian National Institute of Nuclear Physics and the Italian National Research Council. Calzolari holds a PhD in Computer Science Engineering and a Master’s degree in Physics from Università di Pisa.
