Olai Einen has extensive experience in the aquaculture industry. Olai began their career in 1989 as a Researcher at the BP Nutrition Aquaculture Research Centre. Olai then joined Akvaforsk in 1998, where they served as the Leader of the Product Quality Group and later became a Research Director. In 2004, Olai Einen took on the role of Professor II in Aquaculture Nutrition at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences. Olai then went on to become the Research Director at Nofima Marin from 2008 to 2011. In 2011, they became the Director of Division Aquaculture at Nofima. Since 2013, Olai Einen has held various leadership positions at Cermaq Global, including Head of Research and Development and currently as Head of Feed and Fish Health.
Olai Einen began their education in 1981 at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, where they pursued a DH kandidat degree in Nature resource management. Olai completed this program in 1983. Following this, Einen enrolled at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB) from 1985 to 1989, and obtained a Cand Agric degree in Animal Sciences/Aquaculture. Later, from 1994 to 1998, Einen continued their studies at the same institution, UMB, where they earned a Dr. Scient degree in Animal Sciences/Aquaculture.
