Gussie August has a diverse work experience spanning over the years. Gussie started their career as an Intern at Dale Vida Hospital de Ninos Ricardo Gutierez in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2010. From there, they worked as a Rehabilitation Aide at Illinois Bone and Joint Institute from 2010 to 2011. In 2012, they joined Biotronic NeuroNetwork as an Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Technologist. Gussie then moved on to NuVasive Clinical Services in 2014, where they worked as a Clinical Neurophysiologist until 2015. Gussie then joined NuVasive and held various roles, including Sr. Clinical Sales Associate and Key Accounts Manager-Sales, where they accelerated revenue and market penetration of the company's spinal hardware and biologic products in the Chicago region. Most recently, they joined Cerapedics Inc. in 2023 as a Regional Sales Manager.

Gussie August studied at the University of Colorado Boulder from 2005 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Integrative Physiology.
