Sandra Wells is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in intellectual property and patent law. Currently serving as Chief IP Counsel at Cepheid since May 2020, Sandra has previously held significant roles, including Vice President, Patents and Assistant General Counsel at Vivus Inc from June 2012 to May 2020, and VP and Chief IP Counsel at Affymetrix from September 2001 to June 2012. Sandra's early career includes a role as a Postdoctoral Fellow at UC Berkeley, focusing on translational regulation of gene expression. Sandra holds a Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law, a Ph.D. in Molecular & Cellular Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Whitman College.
