Haydee Rodriguez, NBCT, serves as a Board Member for the California State Board of Education since July 2020 and has been a High School Teacher in the Central Union High School District since August 2006, currently teaching AVID, ELD, and Journalism. An educator at Central Union High School since August 2005, Haydee has taught various subjects including Theatre, AP Government, AP Economics, World and US History, AP Spanish Language, and AP Spanish Literature. Previous roles include serving as a Commissioner for the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing from June 2014 to June 2020 and as a Board Member for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards from November 2009 to April 2018. Haydee's educational background includes advanced degrees in Teaching of History from Stanford University, Spanish Language and Culture from Universidad de Salamanca, and ongoing fellowship work on the US Revolution at Brown University. Haydee also holds a BA in History with a focus on Spanish Colonial from SDSU. Prior professional experience includes roles as a recruiter with Select Staffing and as a Prevention Specialist with Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara.
