Dean Mercer has extensive work experience in the manufacturing industry, with a focus on electrodes and automation components. Dean started their career at CenterLine (Windsor) Limited in 1986 as a Machinist and later became the Electrode Product Supervisor. From 2016 to 2020, they served as the Plant Manager for the Electrodes Division. In 2020, they were promoted to the position of Director of Operations, responsible for overseeing electrodes and automation components at the company. In addition to their roles at CenterLine, Dean also worked as a Maintenance Leader from 1997 to 2010 and as a Manufacturing Specialist for international operations since 2013, providing support and training for manufacturing plants globally.
Dean Mercer completed the Maintenance Millwright program at St. Clair College from 1997 to 1999. Prior to that, they attended Forester High School in Windsor, Ontario from 1982 to 1986, where they specialized in Mechanical Drafting. Dean also obtained a certification in Advanced Leadership Transformation - Module 2 - Leading on Purpose - Module Completion from High Performance Leaders Inc. in 2022.
