Ty Jones Cox is an experienced leader in food assistance policy, currently serving as Vice President of Food Assistance at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities since September 2021. Previously, Ty Cox operated Ty Cox Consulting, LLC, focusing on technical assistance for state human services and non-profit organizations regarding eligibility and enrollment in safety net programs. Prior roles include Senior Advisor at AARP Foundation, where Ty managed the SNAP for Seniors initiative, and Director of Policy at Benefits Data Trust, overseeing policy compliance to enhance enrollment processes. Ty's earlier experience also encompasses roles as a Senior Policy Analyst and Public Benefits Staff Attorney. Ty holds a Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law and dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in American Government and Politics and African American Studies from the University of Virginia.
