Jovan Ellis has a diverse work experience starting in 2011 as a Peer Counselor at Queens College, where they provided academic and personal counseling to fellow students. In 2013, Jovan worked as a Group Leader at Brownstone-Future Link Afterschool, creating and implementing a STEM and Common Core curriculum for students while also participating in community outreach activities.

Jovan then moved on to the Governor's Office of Storm Recovery in 2014, first as a Project Administrator and later as a Data Analyst. In these roles, they managed documentation and analyzed data to assess project risks and improve performance.
