K. Venkatesh Prasad

K. Venkatesh Prasad's work experience includes various roles in notable companies and academic institutions. Currently, they are serving as the Senior Vice President of Research and Chief Innovation Officer at the Center for Automotive Research. Previously, they held the position of Senior Advisor at LatentView Analytics and Marel Power Solutions, Inc. K. Venkatesh has also worked as a Visiting Scientist at the MIT Sloan School of Management since 2013, where they contributed their practical expertise to academia. Prior to that, they had a long and impactful career at Ford Motor Company, where they held multiple senior technical leadership roles, including Senior Technical Leader in Corporate Strategy, Mobility Strategy, and Open Innovation. Additionally, they founded and led the development of the open-source hardware and software platform called OpenXC Platform. Before joining Ford, Prasad worked at Ricoh Innovations as a Senior Research Scientist and at Caltech as a Visiting Researcher. K. Venkatesh also has research experience from Rutgers University, where they served as a Research Fellow and Research Assistant. Throughout their career, Prasad has demonstrated a passion for innovation and has actively contributed to various fields within the automotive industry.

K. Venkatesh Prasad completed their Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communications from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, between 1975 and 1980. K. Venkatesh then pursued their Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, from 1980 to 1983. Additionally, they obtained a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Washington State University, specializing in the same field, from 1984 to 1987. Finally, they earned their Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University, where they conducted research from 1987 to 1990.
