Marisa Acosta is a dedicated mental health professional currently serving as an intern at the Center for Assessment and Treatment, a New Jersey non-profit corporation, where practical experience includes over 40 direct hours with clients and management of a caseload of up to six clients. Prior experience includes working as a research assistant at Stony Brook University, contributing to studies on the coping mechanisms of sexual minority couples under the guidance of doctoral student TJ Sullivan. Additional roles at Stony Brook University involved serving as a CHILL Peer Education Intern, where Marisa linked peers to mental health resources and led a project on tobacco use on campus. Marisa Acosta holds a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Montclair State University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Stony Brook University.
