Lauren Santa Cruz

Senior Director, Digital Creative at Center for American Progress Action Fund

Lauren Santa Cruz is the senior director of Digital Creative at American Progress. She comes from The Hub Project, where, as the associate director of creative, she was responsible for helping to launch the organization and leading visual content production for its campaigns teams and partners.

Prior to jumping into the advocacy world, Santa Cruz spent three years as lead field and international producer/editor for Fusion’s flagship show, “America with Jorge Ramos.” Santa Cruz was nominated for a National Association of Hispanic Journalists award in TV/online journalism alongside anchorman Jorge Ramos for their story “Watch Jorge Ramos Swim Across the Rio Grande” where together they swam from the United States to Mexico. Santa Cruz started her career field producing and shooting video for organizations such as Time magazine, Special Olympics, and the Knight Foundation for International Journalism. Santa Cruz graduated from the University of Miami with a bachelor’s in photography and psychology, and she subsequently earned a master’s degree in multimedia journalism.

With her family roots in Colombia, Santa Cruz was the first in her family to be born in the United States, and she was raised in Miami. She suffers from a constant state of wanderlust and can usually be found at the departure terminal of your closest international airport.
