Matthew Ellison is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in technical direction and strategy, currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Censys since February 2021. In this role, Matthew leads multiple engineering teams focused on Data Collection & Scanning, Platform Engineering, and Infrastructure & Ops. Prior to this position, Matthew held roles as a Senior Engineering Manager and Engineering Manager, overseeing diverse teams and contributing significantly to projects related to Internet Scanning and Ops/SRE. As a Co-Founder of Arroyo Networks, Matthew focused on innovative network security solutions while leading product research and development. Earlier experience includes a position as a Quality Assurance Engineer at Arbor Networks, where Matthew specialized in network appliance testing and performance infrastructure development. Matthew holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications from Michigan Technological University.
