John Obery currently serves as Senior Legal Counsel at Cenovus Energy, a position held since January 2021. Prior to this role, John was Legal Counsel for U.S. Operations at Husky Energy from November 2017 to January 2021. Earlier in John’s career, John worked as Of Counsel at McMahon DeGulis LLP, focusing on environmental and toxic tort litigation, particularly advising clients in the oil refining and energy sectors. John holds a Juris Doctorate from Case Western Reserve University School of Law (2011-2013) and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from The College of Wooster (2006-2010).
