Hannu Korpela has worked in a variety of roles in the technology industry since 2000. Hannu began their career at Nokia as an RF Test Engineer, where they developed test applications for RFIC and mobile phones testing in Agilent VEE environment. From 2007 to 2013, they worked at ST-Ericsson as a Senior Test Engineer, where they were responsible for the global R&D 3GPP RF test system for reference design. Hannu then moved to Nokia again as a Test Engineer, followed by a role as a Test Engineer, Certification at Microsoft. From 2014 to 2021, they worked at imec the Netherlands as a Radio Evaluation Engineer and Laboratory Manager, where they evaluated radios such as Bluetooth Low Energy, ZigBee, Wifi, and UWB. Hannu is currently employed as a Project Manager and Project Engineer at Cencorp Automation Oy.

Hannu Korpela obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) from Central Ostrobothnia Polytechnic between 1997 and 2000, majoring in Communications Equipment Development and Testing.
