Miriam Frangini has worked in a variety of roles in the scientific field since 2005. Miriam began their career with an Erasmus Internship at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) München, where they performed chronobiology experiments with Neurospora Crassa and wrote a 20-page final report. Miriam then moved on to the University of Padua, where they obtained a Doctorate degree in Cellular Biology and conducted research on the tissue-specificity of mtDNA depletion syndromes. Following their studies, they held a Post-Graduate Research Grant, where they investigated the origin of mitochondrial thymidine deoxynucleotides in cells of patients with inactivating mutations of mitochondrial thymidine kinase. In 2013, they moved to Universidade de São Paulo, where they were a Post-Doctoral Researcher and set up the basis of a potentially new cell-based therapeutic tool for the treatment of Amyothrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). From 2015 to 2022, they worked as a Research Assistant 3 at Case Western Reserve University. Miriam currently works as a Junior Scientist at Cellular Technology Limited - CTL.
Miriam Frangini obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cell Biology from the University of Padova, followed by a Master's Degree in Molecular Biology and a Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology, also from the University of Padova.
