Maija Pfenniger has a diverse work experience in the field of cancer research. Maija started their career as a Research Assistant at LIKES, where they focused on isolating and purifying RNA from murine muscle samples and conducting qPCR analyses. In 2009, they joined the University of Helsinki as an Undergraduate Research Assistant, working on their Master's Thesis that involved optimizing lentiviral gene transfer to cancer cell lines. During this time, they also pursued their PhD in the Translational Cancer Biology research program, specializing in gliomas and the factors contributing to their development and progression. Additionally, Maija worked as a Visiting Researcher and PhD student at the University of Zurich, where they conducted experiments for their PhD thesis and assisted in ongoing projects in the lab. In 2016, they joined Celerion as a Senior Scientist, where they continue to contribute their expertise in cancer research.
Maija Pfenniger has a strong educational background in the field of science. Maija pursued their Master's degree in Cell Biology from the University of Jyväskylä, which they completed between 2005 and 2010. Following this, they continued their academic journey by enrolling in the University of Helsinki, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Translational Cancer Biology.
